Ellie's World PPEC opened in 2025 with one idea: children with complex medical needs deserve a place where they get specialized care in a warm, welcoming, genuinely child-centered environment.
Why We Built This
From the beginning we wanted to move away from the traditional clinical feel. We wanted a place where children could receive skilled nursing care, therapies and support while still having the chance to learn, play, socialize and simply enjoy being children.
Families in Charlotte County were driving a long way for care their child could be getting closer to home — and many had never been told a PPEC existed at all. We opened to close that gap.

Florida licensed under Chapter 400 and a Medicaid-covered benefit for eligible children.
Licensed and Accountable
Ellie's World PPEC is a licensed Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center, regulated by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) under Chapter 400, Part VI, Florida Statutes, license #60081196. The license was issued on October 17, 2025 and runs through October 16, 2027, with a licensed capacity of 40 children. Our multidisciplinary team includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, therapists and child development staff, serving eligible children from birth through age 21. We are a member of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce.
Where We Serve
Our center is in Port Charlotte, and our transportation covers Charlotte County, Lee County, DeSoto County and Sarasota County — including Punta Gorda, North Port, Arcadia, North Fort Myers and Englewood.
